Creative Cauldron’s latest “Bold New Work,” Kaleidoscope running May 4 –28, takes audiences on the emotional journey of an aging Broadway star. As she attempts to mount her one woman comeback show about her life on the stage, she finds that the early stages of Alzheimer’s disease have begun to steal away her most precious memories.

The production began performances just two weeks after the passing of the much beloved former delegate, Jim Scott, from complications due to the very same disease. On May 21st, half the proceeds of the performances’ sales will be donated to Insight Memory Care Center in Jim Scott’s memory.

Jim Scott served the 53rd District of Virginia, which includes the City of Falls Church, for 22 years from 1991 to 2013. During his time in the House of Delegates, he had important pieces of legislation enacted relating to anti-poverty programs, affordable housing, women’s rights, and other progressive issues.

Falls Church, an assisted living community, is sponsoring a series of post-show discussions, during the run of Kaleidoscope, with experts in the field of memory care. Insight Memory Care Center’s Director of Education and Support Services, Christi Clark, will be leading the discussion on May 21st following the 2:00pm performance and Del. Scott’s wife, Nancy, is leading the discussion after the 7:00pm performance.

Tickets for the May 21st performances are $30 each with $15 of each tickets sold donated to Insight Memory Care Center.
